The Warmup Manual Electronic 16amp Thermostat, also known as the Warmup MSTAT, provides simple and intuitive temperature control for electric and hydronic underfloor heating systems, as well as compatible central heating applications. Its straightforward rotary dial allows the desired temperature to be selected without the need for programming or complicated menus, making it a practical choice for rooms where simple manual heating control is preferred.
The Warmup MSTAT is designed for straightforward heating control without the need to create a heating schedule. The temperature is adjusted using the rotary dial, allowing users to quickly select their preferred comfort temperature.
With temperature regulation from 5°C to 35°C, the thermostat is suitable for everyday room temperature control across a wide range of heating applications.
The MSTAT incorporates dual sensing functionality, allowing it to be configured to use its built-in air sensor, a floor sensor, or a combination of both.
When both sensors are used, the air sensor can control the room temperature while the floor sensor provides a floor temperature limit. This provides additional control for underfloor heating installations where maintaining a defined floor temperature is important.
With a maximum switching capacity of 16A or 3,680W at 230V, the Warmup MSTAT is designed to directly control compatible underfloor heating loads within its rated capacity. For heating loads exceeding 16A, Warmup specifies that a suitable contactor must be used.
The Warmup MSTAT should be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Warmup specifies that the thermostat requires a permanent 230V AC supply from a 30mA RCD or RCBO-protected circuit, with the supply protected by a suitable MCB, RCBO or fuse rated at no more than 16A. A minimum 35mm-deep electrical back box is required for installation.
For bathroom installations, the thermostat must be positioned outside Zones 0, 1 and 2. Where this is not possible, Warmup specifies installation in an adjacent room with the heating controlled using the floor sensor.
The Warmup MSTAT is suitable for:
The Warmup MSTAT is designed for manual temperature control and does not provide programmable heating schedules. It should only be used with heating systems within its specified electrical rating.
Where the heating load exceeds 16A / 3,680W at 230V, a suitable contactor must be installed. Electrical installation and thermostat wiring must be completed by a suitably qualified electrician.
The Warmup MSTAT provides reliable and uncomplicated heating control for compatible underfloor and central heating systems. Its 16A switching capability, dual air and floor sensing, adjustable temperature range and simple dial operation make it a practical thermostat where straightforward manual control is required.
